Introducing Omnia’s Public Fish Attractor Waypoints. Now Available in Omnia PRO

If you’ve ever wondered why a seemingly empty flat suddenly holds fish or how local anglers always seem to know where to stop there’s a good chance you were fishing near a public fish attractor.  Public spots where DNR and other public resource managers have dropped Christmas trees or other artificial structures.

Now, Omnia PRO members can see them directly on the map.

We’re excited to announce a new Omnia PRO feature that provides GPS waypoints for publicly-installed fish attractors, including brush piles, rock structures, cribs, reefs, and other habitat enhancements placed by state DNR agencies to concentrate fish and improve fisheries.

These structures exist to help anglers  and now you don’t have to guess where they are.

What Are Public Fish Attractors?

Public fish attractors are man-made underwater structures placed by fisheries agencies to:

  • - Create fish habitat
  • - Improve survival and growth rates
  • - Concentrate fish in otherwise featureless areas
  • - Make fishing more accessible to the public

They’re often installed in lakes with soft bottoms, minimal structure, or high fishing pressure but many anglers never fish them simply because they don’t know where they are.

Omnia PRO changes that.

How the New Omnia PRO Feature Works

Omnia PRO members now have access to:

  • - Mapped GPS waypoints for public fish attractors
  • - Lake-specific placement, not generic overlays
  • - Integrated directly into Omnia’s mapping experience
  • - Updated and sourced from public agency data

No separate files. No guessing. No scrolling through PDFs or obscure DNR webpages.

Just open your lake map and fish with confidence.

Benefits of Fish Attractor Waypoints for Anglers

1.  Fish High-Percentage Spots Faster

Fish attractors are intentionally placed where they’ll hold fish. Seeing them on the map lets you skip dead water and focus on proven locations.

2.  Save Time on the Water

Instead of graphing aimlessly, you can idle directly to known structures and start fishing immediately — especially valuable on short trips or unfamiliar lakes.

3.  Fish Structure You’d Otherwise Never Find

Many attractors are subtle, small, or in areas without obvious contours. Without GPS coordinates, you’d likely never know they existed.

4. Fish Smarter, Not Just Harder

Knowing why fish are in an area helps you choose better presentations, angles, and seasonal patterns — especially for bass, crappie, walleye, and panfish.

5.  Improve Success for Shore, Kayak, and Ice Anglers

Fish attractors often benefit anglers without big electronics setups. Accurate waypoints level the playing field.

6.  (and maybe most importantly) Pair With Other Omnia PRO Data

Combine attractor waypoints with:

  • - Seasonal technique rankings
  • - Water temperature layers
  • - Community fishing reports
  • - Species-specific tackle recommendations

This is where Omnia PRO really shines!  It’s not just data, it’s decision-making.

Why This Matters

Public fish attractors are funded, installed, and maintained to help anglers succeed, but historically, the information has been fragmented and hard to access.

Omnia PRO brings it together in one place.

This feature is another step toward our mission:
Help anglers fish smarter, learn faster, get the right tackle and spend less time guessing.

Available Now in Omnia PRO

Fish attractor waypoints are live now for supported lakes and will continue expanding as more public data is added.

If you’re already a PRO member, just open the map and explore.
If you’re not, this is one more reason to upgrade.
