It was another tough day on the water. Fished with a buddy who was practicing for an upcoming BFL tournament event this Saturday. Found several bucks roaming the canals. Still too early to be looking for bedding fish. Fished submerged vegetation on Harris to no avail. Went shallow and fished shallow vegetation throughout the afternoon on Lake Harris and Lake Eustis. Managed only a few bites throwing Z-Man Jackhammer and Original Chatterbaits and Texas rigging Missile Baits D'Bombs and Strike King Rage Bugs. If you're going to fish the canals, look for isolated pieces of vegetation along the bulkheads and flip a Texas rig or Tokyo rig with some type of creature bait. It's tough on the Harris Chain right now but in a few weeks to a month the bite should start firing up.
