Found most of our fish in the 15-18 ft range.
Most of the bait early in the season is pushed up shallow and in the rivers. As the season progresses the walleyes move out deeper. We did not catch many on spoons nor on deadsticks, the aggressive approach playing “keep away” with the rippin raps seemed to trigger the walleyes (saugers ate anything). Many people caught fish deeper but when we tried it, there was less quality and a higher density of sauger. Pink and white colors seemed to work best.
