When it gets slick and really tough in those mid august-mid september give a neko rig a try. It can be a difficult bait to fish deep but it does get neutral fish to react when patiently fished at targets. A long cast with a slower then slow drag style retrieve around any of the types of submerged grass Lake St-Clair has to offer will get good ones to eat.
