White Bear Lake seems to only be good in the early Spring, but most events seem to lay in the Summer. This lake has probably the most chaotic boat ramps, with too many watercrafts allowed on the lake at one time. If you want to get away from the crowds do not come here. If you get a slow day, or can find some room on the busy days - look for submerged vegetation in the deepest water you can find. Follow the baitfish! The largemouth and smallmouth are picky on this lake and you will need to spend some time figuring out what they are after. The bass are very bait specific and it can be a big puzzle on this lake. My best success on this lake is in May and early June or late Fall with low-to-variable wind.
