What really made the difference here was a larger than typical trailer. I started using a 5" swimbait and noticed I had an increase in bites, but also seemed to catch the biggest fish on this presentation. One thing that I felt was increased was the calling ability of this larger profile. Combine that with the Pre-Spawn feeding habits and it's a no brainer!

Early in the outing, the beds in the area I fished were empty, although later in the day they were occupied. I caught my fish casting to voids in the grass beds and dragging through. Not a lot of bites, but they were quality when they happened.

Most fish still pre spawn but was able to find a couple on beds. Could see beds but not fish. Water a little dirty. Just pitched jig at the beds

Full spawn out on the lake. This bait in the color super bug drove the bedding bass crazy! Mimicking a bluegill swimming by a bed. I would pitch past the beds is saw between submerged grass feather just off the bottom by the bass bed. After a few pitches the fish could no longer take it an would suck it in. Fun day on the water.
