Went out mid day after a cold front of 32 degrees the night before, very windy day that changed directions often with clear skies, picked up more than a handful of large mouth in a couple hours around open water cover on the umbrella rig with 1/8oz jig heads slow rolling it with occasional rod bumps.

Tough fishing across most of what was about the muddiest I have ever seen Lake Tillery, but found bass in cleaner water in a stream above the bridge.

I caught this bass just casting and really in slowly with the occasional hop. Temperatures are getting ready to go down into the 30s this week. I had another huge bite, came up to the surface and as he breached the surface, I watched as my jig got thrown from his mouth. He’ll be back and I’ll be waiting.

Had a great afternoon bank fishing and enjoying the weather. Fish were still hitting the spinnerbait and crushing top water poppers. Loving the warmer weather as we move towards the pre spawn feeding frenzy.

I caught five pickerels and only one bass. I had another good bass on, but I must’ve had a bad connection because it broke the line.

The river channel runs along rip rap that falls quickly to 24ft. I spotted the bait fish at about 6 ft on my Garmin Live Scope and worked the Stunna through the bait ball with 8lbs P line Floroclear spooled on an old Shimano Curado 200b mounted on David Fritz Cranking Rod. Strikes occurred on about a 3 second pause.

Drop shot working well again around laydowns and docks in late afternoon window. Included a picture of my smallest catch … an overly ambitious 3” minnow that took on a 6” Roboworm. Little guy was fine when I released him (no idea how he got himself hooked) and swam back to his friends.
