T Lo
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
T Lo reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Casting Reel on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "The majority of bass were in their post spawn phase and were keying in on bluegill that were getting ready to spawn. I spent the day focusing on shallow grass flats with clean vegetation near docks. There are lots of areas that near docks where homeowners clean off the bottom of the lake with their weed rollers that welcome bluegill to bed. I utilized my Humminbird Mega 360 to find the "honeycombs" and casted at areas where the grass edge met the bluegill spawning areas. Caught most of my fish on a Outkast Stealth Feider Jig in Money Craw color with a Strike King Rage Chunk as a trailer in the Blue Craw color. Did not fish deeper than 8 feet of water this day."

Nate Nipper
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
Nate Nipper reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Casting Reel on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "Fall fishing on Tonka is all about shallow cover and grass from my experience. Put the trolling motor on high and lock the jig in your hand. Slow down only when you run into something that needs a few more casts. Cast at anything that looks like it would hold a fish. The better grass clumps were key this year, but wood, docks, boat lifts and things like that are always good targets in the fall. Fun time to grind for sure."
Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel
$209.99

Reported by
Ben Demo
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
Ben Demo reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "(5/22/2022 water temp 60-64) Mediocre tourney placed 54 out of 150 boats we caught most of our fish on docks 14-16 inch fish then went to grass flats and that’s where we found our 18 inch+ unlucky we didn’t decide to pick apart that area more in practice it was a spot where we found in tourney when we had nothing else left so we decided to just flip some jigs in grass and it worked. Look for the thickest pieces of grass right now and flip with a heavy jig 1/2 - 5/8."

Joel Vuorenmaa
Grindstone Lake (WI)
Joel Vuorenmaa reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Grindstone Lake. Additional comments from this report: "I own many different casting reels, but none of them are as smooth as the Shimano Curado mgl 150. This reel overall stands above the others. And the price is nice! I will be buying these from now on. I already bought two of them."

Asa Adams
Lake Linville (KY)
Asa Adams reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Lake Linville. Additional comments from this report: "Swimming a shad imitation swim jig around grass mats or flipping it in open holes can get you bite right now! The bite is really tough but if you grind it out you can catch a few!"

M T reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Grass Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch Flip Casting Reel on Medicine Lake. Additional comments from this report: "This report is for 8/6/2022, fished from 4 to 730pm. Day was warm and calm, definitely mid summer patterns. Just got a new reel so wanted to concentrate on docks and flipping. Caught a couple nice ones under docks! The reel feels good on my shorter 6'10" dock flipping/skipping rod. Lots of sunfish of all sizes around the docks."
