Jack Griffith
Steamboat Lake (MN)
Jack Griffith reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Prop) technique and Sufix 832 Braid on Steamboat Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Incredible holiday weekend for catching big bass. Saturday morning i fished for a few hours and caught 7 fish over 18 inches as well as two back to back 20 inch fish. Seems like the bass are starting to beef up for the winter and are actively feeding. I stuck to throwing a black buzzbait with a twin turbo black and blue trailer and they were crushing it! It was an extremely productive way to cover water and target big fish! I stuck to throwing the edges of shallow reef beds and finding isolated patches of Lilly pads produced every time. Drop the lure about 1-3 ft into Lilly cluster and work the buzz bait right off the pads and it was almost guaranteed bite! "

Matthew Mattingly
Lake Cumberland (KY)
Matthew Mattingly reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Prop) technique and PowerPro Braid on Lake Cumberland. Additional comments from this report: "Fished a tournament this weekend. Fall fishing is here, it can be feast or famine. The smallmouth and spotted bass were active in the backs of the short pockets chasing shad. Our best fish came on a River 2 Sea Whopper plopper, some bonus fish were caught flipping a jig in the laydowns and brush right after the topwater. Cover as much water as you can and keep your head down looking for fish"

Threw a 5” senko and was getting bit, but couldn’t get a hook set, broke out the Whopper Plopper in loon/black. Caught this 19” Largemouth on the second cast. Method was Cast out as far/deep as possible, let rest 15-20, fast reel, pops, pause, burn 3-5 feet long pause, burn, pause. He hit it on the pause. You can here the splash as they suck it down. Reel down and set. Tight lines y’all ! "
