Additional comments from this report: "Caught smallies on the edge of wingdams with the BFL umbrella rig including a 5-09 smallie. Also caught a bunch of Largies in the slop on spro black popper frogs. (A decent amount of 3s and a bunch of 2s). Caught a few on a spook by rip rap aswel."

Additional comments from this report: "Water temps right around 50 degrees still. Fish were suspended over main river channel. Caught nicest smallmouth on an umbrella rig, but eventually fished channel swing humps with a DT 6 and even slower with a black and blue jig bumping bottom over the same rocky humps. The jig was the most productive of all the lures I tried. Should have mixed in a jerkbait, but I'll save that for next time."

Be on the look out for surface action, that indicates that bass are feeding at the surface and just below the surface. This can produce a lot of bass in a short amount of time. I like to keep a couple of different setups ready. Jerkbait, lipless crankbait, umbrella rig, and some type of topwater lure usually a strike king kvd sexy dawg jr. "
