Hey there! My name is Caleb Wistad. Growing up in the small town of Spooner, WI, my upbringing was steeped in the outdoor experience. Ever since I could follow my dad around through the woods and on the water, I have been obsessed with fishing, hunting and trapping. I still live here in Northwest Wisconsin with my lovely wife Morgan 9-year-old son Jackson and 1-year old daughter Selah. I fish both open water and on the ice in such places as the Great Lakes, the Mississippi River and many inland lakes, streams, rivers and reservoirs, annually targeting over 30 different species of fish here in Wisconsin. I am committed to discovering new and unique ways to efficiently, and consistently, catch more fish and bring those patterns to others on my social media platforms. As a full-time Master plumber, I sometimes have to get creative to feed my fishing addiction. In 2019 my wife suggested I start an Instagram account to post some of my fishing photos. I begrudgingly agreed and decided to name my account @hookedupwi. I soon found social media to be a great way to connect with lots of like-minded, awesome people when I couldn’t be out on the water or ice and my account grew quickly. One thing led to another and march of 2020 I filmed my first video and posted it to YouTube and was blown away by the response. I am now uploading weekly YouTube videos, posting daily to Instagram and Facebook, managing social media accounts for some great companies, and now, giving fishing reports on several platforms and for Angling Buzz and Angling Buzz Ice. I use a combination of knowledge, patterns, innovation, tackle and gear to find and catch more fish and I bring all those keys together for you on multiple platforms so you can learn to use these methods as well. I am also very involved with responding to anyone with questions on ice conditions, fishing reports, tactics that are working at the time, or just talking fishing so don’t be shy, drop by and say “hi” and let’s get hooked up!!
