Location: Mid lake, focusing on big rock points leading into rocky pockets. Technique and Lures: Starting early with a swim bait kept high in the water column, almost resembling top water action. Swim bait bite tends to taper off between 9 and 10 AM. Fishing steep walls with a spinner bait, often getting hits on the fall against the wall. Using crank-baits to target fish chasing bait fish in rocky areas, ensuring the bait dives into the rocks. Look for signs of fish activity like bait fish jumping out of the water upon casting. Keep a shaky head tied on for versatility and to adapt to changing conditions. General Notes: Be cautious and prioritize safety during your fishing trips. Fish are coming up chasing bait all throughout the day. Focus on reef poles, main lake points and break walls at the marinas. Pull up to any of these areas and start working either a walking bait or a hard body swimbait like the slick stick. Chrome has been the only color I have been throwing. The swimbait has been catching more fish over the walking bait recently. Some areas you will see the fish actively chasing bait. Other areas they are a little deeper, but will still come up feeding so make sure to take the time to work an area even if you see no top water activity. I tend to work both baits as fast as possible. Find what works for you, but you will catch them.
