I finally got the chance to fish this lake on my kayak! It's about a 1/3 of mile walk from the parking area to the public access. The water is very murky. less than 2 feet of visibility in the summer time. I didn't mark any fish around the island. I moved to shallow waters, and fished around the emergent vegetation and lily pads and found myself a few fish and a nice 18 incher.
