Report is for May 5th. Weather was variable with light winds, kind of on and off sprinkles and partly sunny. Found bucks up in the warmest water, but no larger females. Headed out a bit deeper near some weeds and found some better fish in the 12 to 15 inch range, but not larger fish found this day. Overall about 10 small fish on a 5inch floating rapala minnow and then about 10 larger fish on a Jackhammer in Bhite Delight, they were definitely keying on sunfish. It was fast and furious on the jackhammer after I headed out a little deeper. Seemed like for the females it was still prespawn.

The smaller males have started to pull into the shallows in the smaller bays where the water has warmed up to almost 50 degrees. They was 100’s of bass and Bluegill under the float vegetation. Hit the pockets with a wacky worm in 6 inches to 4 feet of water. Bigger fish will be pulling up soon when that warm breaks 55 degrees.
