TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationI finished 5th in the IKFC tournament. It was an absolute grind of an event with a lot of pressure from other fishers and pleasure boaters. The top water bite turned in as the sun came over the horizon. It only lasted about an hour or so. I caught my key fish on a frog over the submerged grass close to rock piles. I did manage one on a bone Sexy Dawg in open water in the back of a pocket.

TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonFallStructureLaydownsThrowing around the magdraft up shallow around submerged stumps or lay down trees caught lots of fish, jerkbait over schools of baitfish, dropshot in a couple brush piles, and a looked anywhere we could fit it. Spinnerbait produced probably the most, bouncing it off stumps/laydowns and getting those fall reaction strikes.

TechniqueHard Body SwimbaitsSeasonWinterStructureLaydownsSlow gliding this thing along shallow laydowns. Key was getting it as close to the laydown as you could. They seemed to eat it better as the sun started to go down. Also caught some under suspended bait balls on scope on a jerkbait and a minnow.
