Brownlee Reservoir is a 15,000 acre lake in Idaho that was created with the Brownlee Dam on the Snake River. A popular fishing destination, target species include crappie, smallmouth bass, catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, and trout. Smallmouth bass populations have been stable for the last 20 years while crappie populations have declined slightly. Both species spawn in the spring in the Hells Canyon Complex after water temperature is between 55 and 59 degrees.
