The summer heat has really beat up on the shallow bass in Buffalo Lake - the only pattern I found was fishing deep water in the shade. I chased the shade around the bank all day and caught good numbers.

It was tough sledding this morning, trying to locate fish. The water was muddier than usual and spawning beds were difficult to spot. In the afternoon, more fish were moving and we could locate beds in shallow spots. Both the spinnerbait and chatterbait were effective, but the bites had more purchase on the spinnerbait, right over the top of beds.
