I fished cypress trees next to or close by to creek channels. Specifically focusing on isolated trees or tight clusters of trees. Cranking and throwing a spinnerbait at various anglers around the trees proved to very effective. Occasionally I would come across a matt of vegetation an got a couple bites but not near as many as fishing the cypress trees.

Threw the chatterbait along the edge of the emergent vegetation with a varying retrieve and would hook up every other cast for about 10 minutes, biggest one caught was 4.

Shaky heads around the lilypads. seemed to like the 6" motor oil/chartreuse tail combo best. No need for special jigs, i like a ball head with no collar but I dont buy them special, I would rather use something multipurpose.
