One of my favorite places for big pre-spawn fish. You can get away with throwing a lot of baitfish imitating lures during this period, but my favorite way to target them is to slow roll a big paddletail in a white or shad pattern. The fish annihilate it!

Caught this 20.5 inch 5 pounder during the 2024 NYKBF State Championships. Skipping a wacky rig under docks and one particular dock was holding A LOT of fish. Had to weed through the smaller ones to get this big ol'girl to bite. She came out and bit just before it hit the bottom. I caught a 19.75 inch Smallmouth under the same dock with the same set up the next morning!
