First time fishing the Charles River. pretty close to downtown Boston. Found a public park with a small Little inlet. Focused on rip rap points and they would act as a pinch point for ambush. The water is tannic stained and the sight flash keitech stands out perfect in this color water. Caught 2 largemouth and had a smallmouth jump off in an hour. Never travel and fish without some white keitech Swimbaits. Easiest way to cover water in multiple depth zones.

Struggled a bit likely due to the high muddy water, sunshine and heat. Managed a few small bass on the day. Fish ignored most moving baits and seemed to be tight to cover such as laydowns, channel swings and docks. Caught one with a live crawfish in its mouth on a finesse jig with ned craw trailer.

Fishing the Charles around BU, Kenmore and Back Bay. Despite the colder temps this week fish were still up shallow and relatively active. I Found fish on all sorts of hard cover and structure. The key seemed to be getting as tight to cover as possible with the spinnerbait. When the spinnerbait bite slowed flipping the finesse jig around these same types of cover generated a couple extra bites. Hoping this bite stays alive a bit longer.
