Fished laydowns from the Appalachian Bridge in Hokes Bluff to Crofts Ferry in Ballplay for spotted bass. Black and Blue Jigs worked ok, but the star of the show was the Spro. Spots hanging off wood close to the bank smashed our crank baits all day long.

Fished up the Coosa River around Croft Ferry. Used the Spro Little John to locate structures and small schooling Spotted Bass, then used the Dirty Jig Tour Level Pitching Jig with a flat chunk trailer to capitalize on the bigger bite. The water was clean, and the shad were popping, but the white-colored jigs were not getting bit. Green Pumpkin with a Brown chunk was the only way to go! We caught 12 small Spots and 3 big fat 5-plus pound Largemouth Bass on the Dirty Jigs lying on the bottom rocks in 8ft of water and all under fallen trees.
