Summary

What you need to know about fishing Eagle Creek Reservoir (IN)

Eagle Creek Reservoir is one of Indiana's finest fisheries, yet many people ignore it. With a 10 horsepower limit on outboard motors, the lake can be a challenge to fish as traveling around can be difficult. For the anglers that do fish Eagle Creek, they find it has abundant Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, and Walleye. This lake is filled with flooded timber, thus making it easier to locate crappie in the spring and fall. Largemouth bass can also be caught in this timber using spinnerbaits, jigs, and squarebill crankbaits. For Eagle Creek's most popular fish to target, the walleye, many anglers focus their efforts to the shallow flats in the evening and even into the night hours. These fish have been heavily stocked in recent years and a healthy population of fish is arising, some fish pushing the seven pound mark. Water clarity in Eagle Creek Reservoir is relatively low, about 3 feet. This makes baits with brighter colors or lures that incorporate a rattle a necessity for success.
