During the spawn on elk throw that spinnerbait around until you see some fish or catch some fish, alot of times this time of year they will chase your bait all the way back to the boat. Once you've located one, then follow them, once you find one there will be more not too far away. Once you find their bed you can pick up a drop shot and put em in the boat quick.

A whole bunch of rock bass and smallies caught around the docks at the Elk River marina. Not much size on average, but you'll occasionally hook into a 2 to 4 pounder, so be ready. Working a ned rig around and in between boats works like a charm. Just skip one as far back as you can, and started bouncing it, and you'll be sure to get a bite... or 10!
