Early in the morning, I was catching fish using a frog among the weeds. As that bite slowed down, I switched to a small Texas rigged creature bait and when possible a chatterbait among the weeds. All other structure on the lake wasn't producing any bites.

2nd Weekend in May. Water teamps 58-60F. Some fish likely spawning, but water clarity does not facilitate sight fishing. Definitely a population of fish still staging to spawn as well. Green Pumpkin or Bluegill colored Chatterbaits / Bladed Jigs were the key. Covering water and grass & any visible cover from 1-4' produced high numbers of catches along with several quality 3lb plus fish. Was difficult to get bit on any other lures.
