Weather was too sketchy to take the boat out. High winds, rain, thunder and lightening...so it was time for a walk-about. Hiked up to Mormon Ravine and with the rapidly rising waters from this 10 day storm system, fished the flooded reeds on the bank lines. Dancing the trusty jack hammer just over the tops of the grass and brush piles was apparently irresistible....I love those Zoom Split Tails! They make a perfect trailer on a chatter bait....dancing all over the place!

Full disclosure...I only had 4 hours in the morning cuz I wanted to get back in time for NFL playoffs, so my intent was to troll for some Rainbow or Kings...but after 3 hours of dragging lures and no results, I had to go bass fishing with the time I had left. I found a 100 foot long submerged ledge by the levy that was about 3 feet under water at the top and down to 8-10 feet on the drop off. Tied on the Strike King Casting Jig with a Ned Craw trailer. I set up about 25 feet away and cast to the ledge, popping my jig off the bottom back at me. This was the best of the day. 2 lb 4 oz. and my first bass for 2024. Here's to many, many more for us all!!!!
