Fish are starting to move out deeper and probably have moved out deeper since I’ve been out. Little late on making my fishing report but what was happening should hold true. The fish are on docks with brush and any other place that has brush.

Cold front pushed through and made the fishing a bit tough for us. Slowed down with the Ned rig and was able to catch a few in the short time we had to fish this morning.

Mainly fished the mid-lake area including horse creek, duck creek, drowning creek, and the main lake. Was able to catch a few fish fishing the channel swing banks and points cranking medium diving crank baits and dragging around a creature bait. There were a few fish starting to group up on the main lake and secondary points but it seemed to mainly be white bass. Had more success fishing channel swing banks in pockets.

Fished bluff banks with river channels or creek channels that swung against the bluff. Most fish came in the 8-10 ft range. Timing was key. Fish would come in and out of the channel to feed so trying these areas multiple times throughout the day paid off.

Fished the Fishers of Men Missouri Ozark division tournament out of Southwinds Marina. Mainly fished the channel swing banks in Horse Creek. Was able to catch a solid limit including a 4.37lb kicker to come in 2nd place. Caught all my fish dragging a Missle Baits D-bomb and a Zoom Lizard. The fish were suspending in the creek channel and sliding up on the channel swing banks to feed.

shad spawn was in full swing and thanks to recent storms raising water levels just enough to provide the hybrids more preferable ambush locations at significant depth transition points in the creek mouths and further up the channelsto ambush spawning shad. Wind direction also aided in forcing shad to form larger schools instead of the typical 10-20 fish schools common for this time of year

Fish were in pre-spawn and spawn stages. Saw some fish on the beds but were not locked in yet. Some fish were on the front side of creeks and points staging to go back and spawn. No topwater action but mainly Necko rigs and wacky rig Senkos.
