The late summer drop shot bite has been hot. Any offshore cover such as brush piles, rock piles or cribs in 18' to 22' seems to be holding nice smallmouth. Weather and time of day don't seem to have much effect on this bite so it's an all day thing too!

Smallies were biting the A-Rig (Minnesota rig version) off sharp dropoffs near rock flats. Tossing the A-Rig out and letting it fall while tracking it's dept on Active Target, then reeling it back up the drop off triggered some nice sized fish.
