Fished a kayak tournament on Truman this past weekend. Caught good numbers of fish slow rolling a lipless along bluff walls. Fish seemed to be staged on bluffs located within the first 1/3 of pockets that were filled with baitfish. The shad appear to be starting their push back in the pockets and the bass are following. The bigger bites came bouncing the bait off of isolated submerged laydowns and standing timber in 8-10 FOW. Slow rolling was key in low light and overcast conditions to trigger bites. Schools fish would often swipe at, or bump, the bait. Making multiple casts back to that same area would produce bites as well. Water temps were still in the upper 70s.

Black buzzbait with gold blade and black plastic toad for trailer. Main lake cuts hitting laydowns making multiple cast. Not very many bites but when you did get bit 90 percent of the time it was a keeper. Water temp morning 77 getting up to 80 by end of the day. Watercolor stained.
