This past weekend 4/16 I ran all the way up the south grand near Clinton. I found a very large school of bass staging on a secondary point with stumps in about 8 ft of water. The stumps were topping out at about 3-5 under the water although the depth was 8 ft I was able to effectively make contact with the stumps with my squarebill eliciting a strong reaction bite. In this section of the lake, it is very easy to repeat this pattern, and I did so for the remainder of my day. Look for points that have timber that is not sticking out of the water, and there will likely be a good amount of bass in the area.
