The water is getting colder and the bite at Truman has been hit or miss for me based on conditions. Somedays I can catch them on a spinnerbait and crankbait and some of the more still days it’s a Jig bite. I have been finding the fish in the deeper channel banks along the main lake and back in the creeks. The shad are think everywhere I was fishing and I only found certain creeks where the fish were active in them. That being said lots of quality fish being caught when you do get a bite if you find yourself around little fish, make a move. The cold is going to hang around and the fishing is good so wear the proper clothing and go out and enjoy some of my favorite fishing of the year. Had a super fun Sunday on the Truman, it took a couple hours to get the first good bite on a Frittsside and I broke it off over a rock ( 4 or 5 lber). Then I headed out trying to duplicate the bit and we sure got on them. From the secondary point back we captured a lot of fish. Some were small but we ended up putting together a nice 14lb bag. The Clutch Eco really did the heavy lifting in the afternoon and the crankbait cleaned up down the rocky banks. I kept it simple and covered water and found pods of fish in creeks. I fished the pomme arm area of the lake. Now is a great time to get out and wet a line.

Fish was really shallow on the pockets. The key was to make contact with the laydowns and stumps. The bait used was the Rapala DT Fat 3 in Old School color.
