Started the day targeting rock with a Queen Tackle Tungsten Finesse Football Jig with a Berkley MaxScent Chigger Craw and also creeping a Rage Swimmer on bottom. Once the sun came up, I targeted bass pushing shallow with the same jig and also a Berkley Stunna. Some visually but many on Humminbird MEGA Live.

Went into the day expecting to powerfish (frogs, blade baits, etc). Caught one fish on a blade. Everything else was on a dropshot. 3/16 oz weight, 14” leader. Gamakatsu G-Finesse hook. Roboworm and a Yamamoto shad shape worm in GP turned the trick. On a day when several participants failed to get a limit, I was able 2 cull up twice significantly on a lake that yields a lot of cookie-cutter fish. No photos because it was a pre-season paper tournament. One more cull would’ve meant a win, but I settled for 4th out of 17. Good kickoff to the tourney season.
