Arrived at the lake around 4 PM. The wind gradually picked up throughout the night causing me to tie on a spinnerbait. With no success using the spinnerbait, I decided to tie on a swim jig which I feel much more confident with. I was throwing the swim jig in the outside edge of the weedbeds where the weeds thin out a bit. I caught a few bass ripping the swim jig through the grass. These fish at Kaercher are very aggressive despite their small size.

Early in the morning I was throwing a topwater frog. Using the frog over the weedbeds I got 3 blow ups but no fish were landed. In the afternoon I caught a largemouth (12”) on the outside edge a weedbed using a swim jig that imitated a shad. After the swim jig, I threw on a Texas rigged D-Bomb. I caught 3 small bass flipping on the outside edge of the weedbed. All these bass were between 10-14”. The water temperature was about 75 degrees and the wind picked up mid-afternoon while I was throwing the Texas rig which greatly enhanced the bite.
