Found fish deep; 20 to 32 feet related to structure like humps and points. Caught a few fishing on jerkbaits and drop shot, but most came on Half Head and half a MaxScent General on 1/4-ounce head. Dragging slowly produced most bites. Had fish to 4 pounds+. Also, ran into a large school of gar feeding on an insect hatch. Never seen this before on a natural lake. Two hammered jerk baits (Stunna) in 35 feet of water off a point.

On this day the smallies wanted baits off the bottom so tubes and neds weren’t as successful so we made the adjustment to drop shots and started catching! Deep humps over 20’ that had baitfish on them were key also.
