Went up the Rio Grande river with my spinnerbait and caught a limit in my first FLW Costa tournament. Lake Amistad has the clearest water you will find. The bass were warming up around large boulders and attacking the spinnerbait. Using a swimbait trailer and silver blades for the clear water. I was reeling in very slowly over boulders. Count the A-rig down and run it just above the depth the fish are suspending. In December I found the suspending at 20 feet in 40-80 foot deep areas around points and bluff walls. A slow steady retrieve momentary pauses will trigger bites. Keitech swimbaits are the standard for the Alabama rig. 1/8 oz Squadron heads are good hooks to use with this setup.
