Solid day at Lake Buchanan. Finished 2nd in a FOM tournament. Shad were everywhere and it was difficult to get the bass associated with them to hit much of anything but had some success throwing a 3.8 Keitech at them. Most of our fish came in throwing at stickups in about 3-7 feet of water with either a shakey head or a Texas rigged man bear pig in green pumpkin.

100 degree days straight has the fishing in a funk but still catching a few first thing in the morning deep cranking. Found the trick has been to burn it as fast as you can. Going up in line size a little sure helps when reeling it fast in heavy cover.

Solid morning on Buchanan, large mouth were hard to come by but landed this nice 5.8lb with a hula grub dragging it through the stickups. Lucked out and came across a huge school of stripers and hybrids blowing up shad. Caught around 15 between the two of us throwing a popper and an underspin.
