Summary

What you need to know about fishing Lake Cumberland

Lake Cumberland is a 63,000-acre reservoir with over 1,250 miles of shoreline. It is located in the south-central part of Kentucky and stretches from Jamestown to Monticello along the Cumberland River. With its sprawling size, access to the water can be accomplished at one of the 50+ boat ramps along its shores. Probably best known for its spring White Bass run and monster Stripped Bass population, Lake Cumberland is filled with many different species that will allow all types of anglers to have a great day on the water. Spring is the time to focus on the back of creeks where fresh water flows in from the many tributaries around the lake. During the Summer, Stripped Bass can be caught trolling in deeper water closer to the dam. Come fall, bass will rise in the water column to fill up on baitfish before the winter approaches, making it the perfect time to throw topwater baits in the early morning and evenings. Max Depth: 197 ft, Average Depth: 90 ft
