Fish have gone into a post spawn pattern for many of the lakes here in central Minnesota. On a bluebird sky day it’s hard to find fish shallow but they’ve moved off to mid depth areas just outside of spawning areas. The 7.5 inch green pumpkin purple yum ribbon tail worm fished on a 1/8 oz tungsten sinker Texas rigged was the ticket. Once you found one fish you found many. Billy rub in the craw scent was an extra bonus to let the bait soak and drawn in strikes!

Docks
On a small Sunday derby i took second with about 10 and 1/2 lbs flipping docks with this tungsten jig. I used a baitfuel soaked krackin craw as a trailer. Winning bag was just around 13 and 1/2 lbs. I caught some other fish with buzzbaits throughout the day as well. The southern arm of the lake is very shallow, and harder to travel. Couple obvious offshore when you look at topography, however flipping and shallow water tactics prevailed on this hot August day. The winner and I were doing mostly the same thing.
