They were into a sparkshad pretty good slow-rolled on the bottom. They would also eat a ned rig dragged through the same areas. They were only on certain points it seemed, they would chase the ned rig if you saw them on FFS and follow a swimbait.

Target ledges and points with scattered rock and use heavy drop shot weights to get down quick, and cover water. 1/2oz minimum. Plink around those areas and you will find the smallmouth.
