Summary

What you need to know about fishing Lake George

Walter F. George Lake, known as Lake Eufaula is an 85-mile long reservoir that runs the border of Georgia and Alabama. The Lake was created by damming the Chattahoochee River with the Walter F. George Lock and Dam. The 640 miles of shoreline and over 46,000 surface acres of water produce trophy largemouth bass, crappie, hybrid bass, striped bass, and catfish. Largemouth bass use the shallow areas of the lake for spawning but move to deeper water to along ledges, points, submerged brush and mid-lake humps. Hybrid bass can be found schooled up while chasing bait fish in shallow, warm water during the late winter and spring but move to deeper river channels in the summer months. Vegetation is limited in Lake Eufaula so finding structure with your depth finder is key to a successful fishing day on the water.
