Throwing a spinnerbait in the river sections of Lake LBJ can produce big bass. When the dam is open spinnerbaits work around piling and retaining walls where there are current breaks. A swimbait trailer has gotten me bites when using this bait. Gold blades for murky water and silver blades for clear water is a good rule of thumb for spinnerbaits. The spinnerbait is good selection for a moving bait option when the bass are chasing shad. Check out the video of a 7LB bass smoking my spinnerbait first cast of the morning in a Media Bass tournament.

Today was 85 degrees with a slight breeze. Best quality bites came on the Zara spook. Topwater bite slowed down unless you found shade as the sun got high. Caught spinnerbait fish on a few windy banks and when we slowed down I threw a rage bug on rock piles and around grass. Fish came from 0 to 15’ deep. Rods by Irod fishing!
