Brush Piles
With the days getting shorter and the nights getting cooler, the bite on Santee Cooper is just heating up! The fish are starting to make there way to the back of the pockets and creeks and the best places to run into them is fishing secondary points and flats in large creeks with brush piles, man made fish attractors, with fast reaction baits and then following up with a slower presentation like a tokyo rig or a drop shot. You may have to cover a lot of water to find them, but once you stumble across the fish you'll have an absolute blast!

Stumps
Flipping trees, and stumps with a texas rigged creature bait was most effective for me. Switching weight sizes throughout the day as I rotated areas also helped.
