Got to fish Lake Marion with a friend on New Year’s Day. The rain we got the last few weeks has brought the lake levels up a good bit. However, the bite is still a little tough. We planned on a crankbait trip, but it didn’t happen. We caught our fish around deep and shallow brushpiles. Was able to pick one fish off a cypress tree on the blade. We had the opportunity for a bigger bag, but a few came off before we got them to the boat. I’m so ready for the next trip!

Packs landing backwaters from river. Bite was slow but caught 2 over 4 lbs sitting in deeper water around 8-12 feet casting to 2-3 feet cypress tree edges.
