Overcast conditions with a little rain in the morning hours. The black bass bite was slow. I caught a few and the biggest is pictured below. I talked with another boater and kayaker, and they were also having a slow time with the bass. The white bass on the other hand are still schooling up and are easy to catch on topwater. The bass I did catch was on a popper or a follow-up caffeine-shad soft jerkbait after they missed the popper.

Fishing today in windy and overcast conditions out of my kayak. I targeted laydowns on the backside of the current caused by the wind. I caught several largemouths today and too many white bass to count. All the fish I caught were on topwater. Most of them were caught on a popper.
