Lake Michigan is a 22,300 square mile Lake that is included in the group of Great Lakes in the United States. Since it’s such a large lake fishing techniques and species targeted change depending on where in the lake anglers enter the lake. Micro ecosystems and inlets like Bay de Noc support ideal spawning and growth rates of specific species for trophy-sized results. With such a diverse number of species, the opportunities are nearly endless. Species include rainbow trout, chinook salmon, lake trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, coho salmon, perch, walleye among others. Research analyzing comparisons between satellite images from 1998 and 2012 have shown that Lake Michigan has become clearer over the years and is now even clearer than Lake Superior.
