Point hopped working rock transitions. Fish usually came within the first 1/3 of the pocket from the point. I was working the bait somewhat fast with short pauses. Most of the bites came within 6 feet of the bank. A good mix of rock changes seemed to be the key.

I fished mainly from where the Niangua River Meets the Osage River to the 5 mile marker of the Niangua River. Was able to locate a shallow pattern. All of my bites came just inside steeper main lake points in the first 100 yards of a cove. Just paralleling the bank in 6-10ft of water with medium diving crank baits keying on chunky rock just inside the points. Was also able to catch a few on a jerkbait on the same type of bank. Pre-frontal conditions with a 2-3” rain coming in overnight.
