Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonFallStructureRip RapLate season stuff here, very cold water, have to do 5+ second pauses. Fish were located 7-10 feet down with access to deep water nearby. Also don’t worry about getting out early, fish 11am-3pm fish aren’t active or moving up to feed until later in the day as it warms up!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueFootball JigsSeasonWinterStructureBouldersThe hula grub on a football head is an amazing bait to throw when the bite gets tough or the water is very cold! Dragged it around some rock transition areas and managed to get some bites I couldn’t get on other baits!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonFallStructurePointsFocused my time on rock points that were in direct sunlight, slow rolling with this flat sided crank with occasional pauses and change in speeds!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueMedium Diving Crankbaits (7'-12')SeasonFallStructureRip RapDT8 is $$$ in the fall, nice small profile with a tight wobble. Had a lot of success just covering water on rip rap shoreline, and taking more time switching casting angles when cover any points or sudden changes.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonFallStructureRip RapIf you love throwing power baits, fall smallie fishing on the river is a blast! Catch em on Rippin Raps, Jerkbaits and swimbaits! If you can find a concentration, try dragging a carolina rig for that big kicker.

WalleyeTechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructureOpen Water/Basin18-22 ft seemed to be the best. Get just outside the current and tip the Rapala jigging rap with a head of a fathead. Had to move a couple times to find them. We also used tip ups with shiners and they produced a couple as well.
