Early morning, fishing all the flooded brush with higher water, slow roll, with changes in speed were key!

Fish seem to be hanging out around reeds and emergent vegetation/structures (trees/lay downs/etc.). Casting a 1/2oz. chatterbait with an average speed retrieve and a few jerks tend to trigger bites.

End of April, water temperature was 43 degrees. Smallmouth were in a late winter/early spring bite. Smallmouth were located in deeper water off of rip rap banks.
