Summary

What you need to know about fishing Lake Seminole

Lake Seminole is a 37,500-acre reservoir located on the border between Georgia and Florida. The Chattahoochee River, which forms the border of Georgia and Alabama and later, between Georgia and Florida, flows from the north and dumps into The Seminole Reservoir at the northwest end of the Impoundment. The Flint River also converges with the Chattahoochee in Lake Seminole which was ultimately created by the Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam downstream. The Lake contains excellent fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, crappie, chain pickerel, catfish, striped bass and other species. Bass tend to chase the bait balls which move up into the shallows during the spring and fall but into the deeper depths during the warm summer months and cold winters. Ken Sturdivant of Southern Fishing recommends using Lowrance Side Scan technology on Seminole to find these bait balls where you’ll also find fish. Casting spoons, drops shots, and crank baits work great for catching largemouth bass.
