The warming conditions during the tournament played well to bass moving up to their spawning locations. I keyed in on slack water located near current, searching for shallow pockets in the grass. I was able to visually see bass because of the ripples they were creating in the shallow water. I would cast the A.T. Swim Jig up to them and work the bait by shaking it and keeping it at or towards the surface of the water. I also worked the bait around shoots that were leading to the back of the spawning areas that the fish were using as highways to get to and from their beds.
