Had a fun tournament fishing for roamers just a foot or two under the surface. Had to weed through a lot of small ones to get any size but you would eventually find some.

🔳 First off, what a beautiful lake. If you haven’t been out to Lake Sharpe, SD then it’s definitely worth the trip. 🔳 Day 1: caught a few on the morning bite and needed 2 in the box. Everything shut off, no matter where we ran or what we threw we couldn’t get a bit. We decided to run to the dam where we had some spots marked and at about 12:30 they turned back on again and we ended up catching 20 fish in that last hour. Nice fish but ended with a total of just over 11 pounds. 🔳 Day 2: We knew we had to go back and start at the dam based on how we ended. Good thing because we ended up culling by 6:45. That allowed us to slowly work our way up and continue to slowly make improvements on our fish. Ended up with 14.00 even, unfortunately we had one die on us in the last 10 minutes which dropped us back not only 1/2 a pound but out of 2nd place and out of the money. Most productive setup: ◽️7’4” ML - @badbass_customs - Daiwa Legalis 3000 ◽️ Z-MAN ShroomZ Micro Finesse Jig paired with a TRD BugZ We found that this little bait was the perfect little package whether that was fan casting, or sight fishing close to the boat, the fish couldn’t resist.
