Smallmouth BassTechniqueSoft JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureBouldersSpent the week on Vermilion, what a blast it is. Was on the west side of the lake, and the fishing was lights out. Best I’ve seen in my 3 years visiting for size. The caffeine shad may be my new favorite soft jerkbait, only problem was I didn’t bring enough! Pink color has great visibility, I was basically fishing it as a top water, sometimes a foot below the surface at most. Just find the big boulders on shorelines make several casts at them, the bass are in there and they’ll come for it eventually. Mixed in the super fluke after I ran out of caffeine shads. And some top water poppers just for fun!

Slow day. Caught keepers under docks with Strike King Ned craw GP and Blue Craw.

Caught some fish running the dt6 or dt10 over rock ledges and points. If you could find pencil reeds along with the rocks it was even better.
