WalleyeTechniqueBobbersSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureBouldersFishing north shorline rock flats and subtle points, 6-8 foot of water has been best for me. Jig n minnow or a bobber for the eyes and some smallies mixed, square bills are catching both bass and walleyes! Good luck this weekend!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureBouldersThe water was super cold. Had to fish very slow. When you got a bite, power pole down and not move. Long cast with long pauses was the key.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBouldersHad best luck on dig boulder stretching out off points with a jerk bait and caught walleyes in the entrance into pikes bay throwing 1/4 once under spin with a swim bait in 4-7 feet of water every evening . Great time for first trip to this body of water .

Smallmouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsWater Temps on 5/23-5/25 ranged from 63 to 67 on the 23rd. It seemed the jump to upper 60's pushed some Smallies into the shallows preparing to spawn. We caught a few (blindly) on Topwater and Jerkbaits worked slowly that were full of eggs. The rest of the fish came on a DT-6 for me while beating the banks that mostly had main lake points.
