The bass have definitely remained somewhat scattered throughout the lake this year, but thats not to say that you won't find clusters of them hanging out near weedlines and breaks. Many of the spots I usually fish on Waconia were nowhere near as productive as i expected them to be, but any of the spots you roll up on and can mark a school of smaller forage fish will be productive. A drop shot rigged with an Xzone Hot Shot minnow being constantly dragged had them absolutely fired up, might have to sift through a bunch of small ones, but the bigs will absolutely slam it too.

Bass can be found schooled up on the edge most reefs on where weeds are adjacent to hard bottom. Most fish were caught on a ned jig with a senko or 6th sense ned fry 4.6 and there's no such thing as fishing this bait too slow. Bass were also feeding on bluegills that were eating gnats and flies. Throwing a weightless soft jerkbait in 12+ fow was a fun way to catch bass imitating bait fish
